Three Greene County High School football standouts will be continuing their educations and playing careers this fall in the utlra-competitive Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges.
Blake Daughdrill, Noah Mitchell and Hayden West made their decisions official last Wednesday on National Signing Day for collegiate student athletes. Mitchell and West will continue as teammates, and as Wildcats for that matter, as they both chose to sign with Pearl River Community College in Poplarville. Daughdrill is taking his talents to Ellisville where he will look to play a key role for the Bobcats of Jones College.
Mitchell and Daughdrill were named to the Class 4A All-State team last season. Mitchell starred at linebacker for GCHS and averaged 11 tackles per game as the Wildcats posted a 9-4 record and made their second straight trip to the MHSAA playoffs. Daughdrill was a force at defensive tackle for GCHS and recorded eight tackles per game. West, a multi-year starter for GCHS on the offensive line, had a solid season as well, and like Mitchell and Daughdrill, earned a spot on the Region 7-4A Super 22, which recognizes the top 22 players at their positions in the region.

GCHS Coach Mike King is shown speaking to the large crowd gathered for the celebration in the GCHS Library.
