Human bones and bone fragments found in a wooded area in the Little Creek Community earlier this year have been positively identified as the remains of a Perry County woman missing for three years.
Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles announced Monday the remains were a near perfect DNA match to Glin Street, a local woman reported missing on Feb. 21, 2017. With this new information, Nobles said his office will be upgrading the case to a homicide investigation.

“You can also use the contact button on our Facebook page and it will send you to the Crimestoppers report form,” Nobles added. “Remember we want your information not your name and you could receive a reward up to $1,000.”

Due to this, Nobles initiated a second search of the area, this time broadening the search area and including multiple agencies the search. This, search led to more remains being discovered near the original location. The newly discovered remains were sent for DNA identification, and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office announced they have a positive identification of the victim.
“On Feb. 28, 2020, we decided to revisit the area where the skull was found and expand the distance to broaden the search,” Nobles said on a social media post Monday. “More than 40 volunteers conducted a grid search of the area to look for more remains.”
“After searching the area again, we still found nothing. After nothing was found, we decided to search the woods across the road where we recovered more bones including two femur bones that we believe to be human bones. We secured the scene and collected all the bones found.”
Those remains were sent to the state crime lab and produced a 99.9 percent match to Street.
