The MSU Greene County Extension office and the Greene County Farm Bureau presents the 2019 Greene County Ag Day, to be held at the Greene County Rural Events Center Saturday, June 29, beginning at 11 a.m.
The event will feature many Greene County producers showcasing equipment, animals and goods that are found right here in our community. The 2019 Ag Day is a free event and is open to the public.
Residents are invited to join our county producers for free food, activities and fellowship. Producers from around the county will show how their equipment works, show off their dairy cows, sheep and other animal. Area kids can take advantage of free games and activities and everyone can enjoy the bluegrass music during the event.
Extension Agent Angie Byrd said the event is for residents to meet the producers of our county and to encourage fellowship and family fun. The event will last through lunch.
“This event is for everyone,” Byrd said. “We want everyone to come out for a free burger and meet the producers of the county.”
“We want families to have a great time,” added Byrd. “Kids can enjoy a bouncy house and can even learn to rope livestock.”
The Mississippi Agricultural Commissioner will be at the event to speak to the producers of the county as well as all residents. Many county residents depend on some sort of agriculture for their livelihood, and this event will demonstrate the importance of their work.
If you are a producer in the county and would like to know about participating in the event, or are interested in going and want to learn more about it, contact Angie Byrd at the Greene County Extension office at (601)394-2702.
